Teammate Focus: Roy Dickinson

Roy Dickinson joined the MFG DesignCenter in 2004 and is now MFG’s lead designer generating flat patterns from 3D complex shapes for 2D CNC manufacturing.
John Fernandes, manager of the MFG Design Center, describes Roy as a key asset to the group: “Roy was the first teammate to join us in 2004 and has seen just about every composite design spanning all the various markets and applications. His depth of experience and knowledge with LEAN manufacturing design is invaluable.”
Roy lives in Hillsboro, OR with his wife Melanie and three children Cody, Makaliah, and Emilee. Melanie is a cardiology nurse and the girls play competitive softball. Makaliah is studying to become a veterinarian and Emilee is a high school freshman with an incredible 55mph fastball. In their leisure time the family enjoys camping, exploring national parks, hiking and riding ATV’s in the coast sand dunes with their dogs Duke and Daisy.
“My experience with Roy over the past 10 years is that he consistently brings fresh perspective to each project and delivers an outstanding design outcome. Roy’s collaborative spirit makes him a pleasure to work with.” – Rich LaFountain, MFG Director of Composite Technology
