MFG Alabama Promotes Kha Tran to Plant Manager
MFG Alabama announced the promotion of Kha Tran to plant manager, reporting to Dave Giovannini, SVP Wind. Kha joined the entity as engineering/quality manager in 2015, and was promoted to operations manager in 2018.
Kha has extensive background in composites and VARTM/RIM. Before joining MFG, he worked for General Dynamics Land Systems designing structural composites, ballistic composite armors and signature management systems.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University. He and his wife Taylor reside in Crestview, FL with their children, Madelynh (3) and Cassian (1).
Other management changes at MFG Alabama include: Jim McDowell, PhD. joined the company as T1 engineering manager. Jim brings more than 25 years of plastics and composites experience in aerospace, automotive and industrial applications.
Before joining MFG, Jim was engineering manager at Newpark Mats and Integrated Services. Jim holds a Six Sigma black belt and was the inventor or co-inventor of more than 20 US patents.
Originally from Columbus, OH, Jim earned a doctorate in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University.
